MY EPIC 2016 TBR BONANZA!!!

Hello all! As you can see from the title, I am very excited about this post because it is essentially going to be a post listing many of the books I want to devour in the upcoming year! There will be many books and authors and aspirations and ambitions contained within this post.

First, how many books?

So, 2015 saw me aim for 52 books initially, which wasn’t helped by the fact that I hardly read anything in the first 6 months of that year… However, when I started blogging, I started reading more and more and found that I had far fewer reading slumps. I still had to change my Goodreads reading challenge goal to 35 books, which I just about managed to meet! 😀

Thus, I am going to aim for 52 books in 2016 – that’s one a week; not too ambitious and certainly do-able. #realisticgoals (this is probably the ONLY time you will see me use a hashtag…)

Second, what will be read?

I’m a huge YA and fantasy fan, but I’d like to branch out a bit more this year. I think I will try to stick to my aim of reading at least one classic a month as well. Also, going back to my “What I would LIKE to Read” post, most of those still stand! Here is a recap (with some added) of the authors I’d like to read:

  • Cassandra Clare
  • Neil Gaiman
  • Rainbow Rowell
  • Patrick Rothfuss
  • Kurt Vonnegut

Third, any particular series?

  • The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan
  • The Gentlemen Bastard series by Scott Lynch
  • The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
  • The Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness
  • The Demon Cycle by Peter V. Brett

And maybe, just maybe, I might get around to reading the Harry Potter series…

Fourth, individual books?

  • Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
  • Welcome to Night Vale by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor
  • Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig
  • The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
  • The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman

Fifth, reading resolutions?

In keeping with my groups of 5, here are my five reading resolutions for the upcoming year.

  • Read 52 books
  • Read 4 classics
  • Complete 5 ‘on-hold’ books
  • Read 3 books by international authors (excluding authors from English-speaking countries)
  • Complete 3 series

Here’s to a wonderful bookish 2016!

Happy New Year!
